NCDR attended the 12th APEC Emergency Preparedness Working Group Meeting in Kokopo of PNG. The theme of the 12 SDMOF is "Advancing multi-hazard early warning systems for emergency preparedness and Disaster Risk Management (DRM)".

Hon. Camillo Gonsalves, the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Sustainable Development, and Information Technology of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, visited NCDR to discuss the disaster risk reduction and emergency operation in Taiwan.
The Bhutan-Taiwan Bilateral Workshop
The Bhutan-Taiwan Bilateral Workshop was took place from 17 to 19 September in NCDR, Department of Geosciences of National Taiwan University and Institute of Earth Sciences of Academia Sinica. Two Professors, Dr. Raju Sarkar and Kelzang Dorji, from Royal University of Bhutan were invited to attend this workshop. The theme of the workshop is focus on the Seismic Network and Earthquake Early Warning System and Disaster Management Information System.
The National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), serving as a technical advisor to the Executive Yuan (Cabinet) on disaster prevention and reduction affairs, was established in July 2003.
