NCDR, the Ocean Affairs Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Taipei Office, the American Institute in Taiwan, the Australian Office and the Embassy of Saint Lucia co-hosted the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International Workshop on Maritime Disaster Measures from 18th to 19 th October, 2023.

There were 85 delegates from 13 countries participated in the event. Experts from Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Australia and St. Lucia discussed the issues about tsunami, coastal disasters, ocean pollution and international cooperation and marine disaster prevention with all participants.

The organizers also arranged for a field visit to Keelung to visit the Chiayi Cutter and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology. The delegation could have more understanding for Taiwan's maritime affairs.
