The 2023 International Training Workshop for Youth Leadership on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief was held from 25 to 28 August in Hualian Tzu Chi Jing Si Hall. This was the final event of series International Training Workshop in 2023, and co-held by National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation and Tzu Chi University. NCDR has held the International Training Workshop since 2015, and this is the 18th Workshop. It is also the first time to have oversea participants to Taiwan after the Covid-19. There were 65 participants from 19 countries joining this workshop, including Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Malawi, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, U.S., Colombia, Palau, and Taiwan.

The workshop that aims at the capacity building for HADR in case of Typhoon scenario and the training courses were focused on the planning and practice of the humanitarian assistance with information and technology application, and disaster relief experience. The participants can learn and use their creativity by the courses design of lectures, hand-on practice, brain storm and team work.
