NCDR and DPRI held the 14th Bilateral Workshop on November 17 at the Taiwan Volcano Observatory. Based on the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in disaster risk reduction research, Taiwan and Japan conduct regular annual exchanges. In 2025, the workshop was hosted by NCDR in Taiwan with the theme “Advancing Disaster Science through Observation, Model, Response, and Post-Event Studies.”

The DPRI delegation, led by Professors Eiichi Nakakita and Norio Maki, consisted of 12 researchers. They also visited the Taiwan Volcano Observatory (TVO) and the volcanic monitoring facilities located at Xiaoyoukeng.
